What this market video covers
An indexed chart value is not a dollar quote. This historical Meta IEX replay uses completed five minute observations from October eighth, twenty twenty six. The candles remain in dollars. For a separate calculation, set the twentieth interval close as our declared base of one hundred. That base close is 721.48 dollars. At the marked later close, price is 715.75 dollars. Divide that later price by the base price and multiply by one hundred. The indexed value is approximately 99.21. Subtract one hundred to express the price change as a percentage from that base. Changing the starting observation changes the reference value. It does not change any original trade price. This close based calculation excludes dividends and transaction costs; it is not total investment return. State the starting timestamp, price source and units before interpreting a normalized chart.
