What this market video covers
A falling channel ceiling can reflect an old observation expiring. This historical Johnson and Johnson IEX replay uses completed five minute bars from October eighth, twenty twenty six. Define the ceiling as the highest high in ten observed bars, including the latest completed bar. The old window has a highest high of two fifty three point three six dollars. Its oldest bar carries that extreme. Advance the window by one bar. The incoming high is two fifty two point eight nine. The remaining highs top out at two fifty three point one nine, so the ceiling drops seventeen cents. The old price did not change, and the incoming bar did not create a new high. The reference set changed. This window effect does not prove new selling pressure. A prior session high stays fixed after that session, while a rolling high can age out. Specify the reference first.
