What this market video covers
A regression slope needs units before it can be compared. This historical Broadcom IEX replay uses twenty completed five minute closes from October eighth, twenty twenty six. Fit a straight line using bar numbers zero through nineteen. Its slope measures dollars per bar, not a percentage return. The fitted slope is approximately -0.0877 dollars per five minute bar. Keep the same prices but label time zero, five, ten minutes, and so on. The slope in dollars per minute is one fifth as large, approximately -0.0175. The fitted prices are unchanged because the time coordinate changed too. Multiplying a fitted slope by another time interval extends the model, not a guaranteed future move. This fit summarizes a historical window. Missing observations or unequal timestamps also matter: a bar index is not automatically elapsed clock time. State the price basis, window and time unit before comparing slopes. Historical observed market-data replay. Educational content, not personalized investment advice.
