What this market video covers
A pivot label can sit on an earlier candle even though the information arrived later. For a strict two left, two right high rule, the candidate high must exceed the highs of two completed bars on each side. The two right bars do not exist when the candidate first closes. This historical Salesforce IEX replay uses five minute candles from October eighth, twenty twenty six. The candidate high is two twenty two point five one. Its next two highs are two twenty two point three two and two twenty two point zero eight. Both are lower. But confirmation waits until the second right bar closes: ten minutes after the candidate closes. Our label appears only then, even though it points back to the candidate. Backdating the drawing does not backdate knowledge or an executable entry. Separate the pivot candle time from the detection time when reviewing a chart. Historical observed market-data replay.
