What this market video covers
An opening jump is different from a gap between complete candle ranges. This historical AMD IEX replay uses completed five minute observations from October eighth, twenty twenty six. The earlier close is six twenty three point five two dollars. The next observed open is six twenty three point nine five. That opening difference is positive forty three cents. But the earlier range runs from six twenty two point eight three to six twenty seven point four five. The next range runs from approximately six twenty two point three three to six twenty five point three four. The ranges overlap. For a full upward range gap, the next low must exceed the earlier high. That condition fails here, despite the positive opening difference. These are observed IEX summaries, not evidence that no trades occurred elsewhere. State the gap definition before interpreting a chart label or comparing a screen result.
