What this market video covers
For dark cloud cover, the midpoint test refers to the previous real body, not its full high low range. The real body runs between the open and close. Wicks are separate. This historical Qualcomm IEX example uses completed five minute candles from October eighth, twenty twenty six. The first rising candle opens at one seventy four point six three and closes at one seventy five point zero three five. Its body midpoint is approximately one seventy four point eight three three. Its high low midpoint is one seventy four point nine five. The next candle closes at one seventy four point eight five: below the range midpoint but above the body midpoint. Using the wrong midpoint would misclassify this check. The body penetration condition fails. This is one geometry test, not a complete pattern signal. Opening gaps and trend context also matter.
