What this market video covers
A spinning top can finish nearly unchanged while covering a much wider price range. The real body measures open to close. The shadows measure the extremes beyond that body. A small net change does not mean a quiet interval. This historical Salesforce IEX replay uses completed five minute bars from October eighth, twenty twenty six. The open is two twenty two point three two; the close is two twenty two point three seven five. That is a five and a half cent body. But the full high to low range is thirty seven and a half cents. The upper shadow is eighteen and a half cents, and the lower shadow is thirteen and a half cents. Both exceed twice the body in our declared shape screen. This measures geometry, not trader intent or a guaranteed reversal. Compare the body with both shadows before describing the interval. Historical observed market-data replay.
