What this market video covers
Three range bars do not automatically mean fifteen minutes. A range chart builds bars from a chosen price movement, not a fixed five minute clock. Pattern length in bars and duration in minutes therefore answer different questions. Consider these hypothetical completion times. Range bars complete at nine thirty one, nine forty and nine forty two. Their durations are one minute, nine minutes and two minutes. The total elapsed time is twelve minutes, even if the three elements occupy equal horizontal space. These boxes illustrate event times, not observed market candles or a trading signal. Do not multiply a range bar count by five to estimate the duration of a flag or triangle. Read the actual timestamps and chart construction. A pattern rule designed for timed candles needs separate validation before applying it to price based bars. Clearly labeled hypothetical worked example; figures are illustrative, not current company results. Educational content, not personalized investment advice.
