What this market video covers
Two candles drawn next to each other are not always consecutive time intervals. Before testing a two candle pattern, check the timestamps and data coverage. This historical Deere IEX extract uses five minute buckets from October eighth, twenty twenty six. One reported bucket starts at sixteen fifty five UTC. The next reported bucket starts at seventeen zero five. Subtract the start times: ten minutes, or two five minute intervals. The seventeen hundred bucket is absent from this extract. A renderer that compresses missing buckets can place those reported candles side by side. That does not supply the missing open, high, low or close. This exchange specific extract also cannot establish that the whole market stopped trading. Do not invent a flat candle to complete the sequence. A rule requiring consecutive five minute candles needs consecutive timestamps and sufficient source coverage before a pattern label is justified. Historical observed market-data replay.
